Chicago Sky Coach Sends 4-Word Message Before Caitlin Clark, Fever Game

The Chicago Sky should be one of the most improved teams in the WNBA this season. After All-Rookie campaigns from Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso in 2024, the team added several other great players in the offseason.

Tyler Marsh also took over as the head coach for Teresa Weatherspoon after she won just 13 games last year. He is already making improvements to the roster and expanding the roles of the franchise's centerpiece players.

In their first game of the season, the Sky will take on the Indiana Fever, led by young star Caitlin Clark. Her and Reese's rivalry is well-documented and dates back to their college days.

On the other side, Stephanie White will be kicking off her fifth season at the helm of a WNBA team. However, this will be her first game leading the Fever since she left the franchise in 2016.

By contrast, Saturday's matchup will be the first official game of Marsh's head coaching career at the WNBA level. He sent out a message before his debut.

"Game Day. Need it! ," Marsh wrote.

The Sky's new roster should yield better results in 2025 after adding veterans like Courtney Vandersloot and Ariel Atkins. A second-year jump is also expected from Reese and Cardoso.

Rookies Hailey Van Lith and Maddy Westbeld both made the team and could factor into the rotation as well. Chicago has one of the most exciting young cores in the league, and it will be on full display on Saturday.

It will be a challenge to contain Clark and her new teammates like DeWanna Bonner, but Coach Marsh will have his Sky team prepared on opening night.
