The Chicago Sky entered Sunday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks coming off a hard-fought loss to the Golden State Valkyries on Friday night, sitting at 4–11 overall and fifth in the Eastern Conference standings.

Despite missing veteran guard Courtney Vandersloot—who is out for the season—and rookie standout Kamilla Cardoso, currently representing Brazil in the FIBA AmeriCup, the Sky delivered an impressive performance, defeating the Sparks for the second time in three games.

Leading the way was second-year star Angel Reese, who made history during the game. She recorded her 36th career double-double, and the team announced that Reese has now entered the franchise’s all-time top 10 for rebounds. She has officially surpassed 644 total rebounds—and counting.

"BOARD BARBIE," Sky posted.  "Angel Reese just entered the Chicago Sky’s all-time top 10 for rebounds, and she’s only in YEAR 2. Anything off that board? yeah, it’s HERS.

Fans reacted to Reese's accomplishment:

"THIS IS CRAZY [explicit] MY GOAT," a fan said.

Another fan posted, "She's a hall of famer already, can't change my mind."

Someone else added, "And we still have more than half of the year left btw."

"She playing so good right now. Tears of joys," a fan shared

One more fan commented, "Stop playing with AR-5 stats man.... Put them up. Ball don't lie.. Treat her fairly."

Reese entered Sunday’s clash averaging 11.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game—making her the only player in the WNBA currently averaging a double-double.

Those numbers are set to climb following the Sky’s 92–85 victory over the Sparks, as Reese posted an impressive stat line: 24 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks, and one steal, leading Chicago to its fifth win of the season.
