After her four-year run in women’s college basketball, Reese was selected by the Chicago Sky using the seventh pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Paired with South Carolina Gamecocks Kamilla Cardoso, the two rookies now form the backbone of their team’s future in the league.

Just recently, though Chicago faced off against the Connecticut Sun in their first meeting of the season. While her team suffered their second loss in four games, Reese showed flashes of potential when she dropped 13 points, five rebounds, two assists and a single block in 33 minutes on the court.

At some point in the game, Reese was positioning herself for a rebound while the Sun’s Alyssa Thomas was guarding her. As she was going up to grab the ball, the Connecticut forward held her down, which resulted in a nasty fall. This prompted officials to call a flagrant foul on her and eject Thomas from the game.

After the game, Reese shared her thoughts, which can be seen in a video shared by Julia Poe on X:

Unlike Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark, Reese is somehow adjusting well to her new role as a pro baller. In the four-game stretch she has played this year, the rookie is averaging 12.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.

With that kind of competitiveness inside her, it’s not surprising for Reese to get back up after a dangerous fall. In any case, it looks like the Sky rookie is raring to go out there and prove her worth in the WNBA.
