After selecting Angel Reese in the first round of last year's draft, the Chicago Sky instantly became one of the most exciting teams in the WNBA. Reese landed on the All-Star team last season after scoring 13.6 points per game and recording a league-record 13.1 rebounds per contest.
She first rose to stardom in college after she and her LSU teammates infamously took down the Iowa Hawkeyes and mocked Caitlin Clark in the 2023 National Championship game.
The league is leaning into this storyline, as they scheduled the Sky and the Indiana Fever for five matchups this year. The two teams will face off in their season openers on Saturday, May 17.
Anticipation is high for the next chapter of this already-storied rivalry. Clark and Reese are two of the best young players in the league, and they captivate audiences with their play.
The Chicago Sky will have to travel for the opening game of the 2025 season. However, that has not stopped the franchise from being excited for the matchup.
"See you soon," the Sky wrote.

Chicago made several massive upgrades this offseason, adding both surefire veterans and promising young rookies. WNBA champion Courtney Vandersloot is a perfect addition, as are experienced guards Ariel Atkins and Rebecca Allen.
The Sky also drafted two rookies who made the roster, guard Hailey Van Lith and forward Maddy Westbeld. Neither are expected to play major roles, but both have promising futures with the franchise.
There is tons to be excited about as the WNBA season nears. Angel Reese and the Sky should be a much-improved team under the guidance of head coach Tyler Marsh.
They'll look to make their first playoff push of Reese's young career, and that starts with taking down Clark and the Fever on the road.
