Audi Crooks will not return to Iowa State next season. The star center announced Thursday that she will enter the transfer portal after three seasons with the Cyclones. Her decision comes after one of the most productive years in women’s college basketball.

Crooks averaged 25.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. She also made the Wooden Award All-America team.

Moreover, she became a fan favorite in Ames and built a strong connection with the supporters during her time there.

She shared the news in an Instagram message. Crooks thanked the Iowa State community and reflected on her time with the team. “Thank you all for embracing me and showing up to Hilton every single game day,” she wrote. “I’ve met so many of you out in the community, and I will cherish all of the genuine connections that I’ve built during my time at Iowa State.”

She made it clear that she wants a new challenge. “I still believe the grass is greener where you water it,” she added. “It’s why I want you to hear from me directly that I have decided to enter the portal and explore what it means to take root again in new ground.”

Several top programs are already showing interest in Audi Crooks. UCLA is seen as a strong option, especially with key players leaving for the WNBA. That could give Crooks a chance to step in and make an immediate impact.

Iowa and Minnesota are also possible choices. Both schools could offer her a big role and keep her closer to home. She would instantly improve any team’s offense.

More schools could still join the race. Crooks is one of the best players in the transfer portal, so many programs will try to sign her. NIL deals may also influence her decision.

She leaves Iowa State after a great run, where she became the face of the team. Now, she is ready for the next step.

Her decision will be important for next season, and many fans and teams will be watching closely.
