Amid the drama of the NCAA women's Final Four, former Iowa Hawkeyes guard Caitlin Clark has been making moves on the college basketball scene.

No, that is not a reference to her appearance on ESPN's Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi alt-cast of the national championship game between No. 1 seed South Carolina and No. 2 UConn on Sunday.

Rather, the NCAA's all-time leading scorer has struck up a new relationship with a less-storied women's college basketball program: Florida Gulf Coast University.

On Friday, the FGCU Eagles announced the hiring of former Iowa assistant Raina Harmon as their new head coach, drawing a strong response from Harmon's former pupil, Clark.

"It's go Eagles now! @raina15 EARNED IT!" the Indiana Fever guard wrote on her Instagram story after seeing the news.

Clark also followed up with a comment on the FGCU women's basketball Instagram post, begging: "Merch needed."

Less than 24 hours later, the Eagles responded to Clark's request.

Specifically, FGCU mascot Azul the Eagle made sure that the Iowa legend had her wishes fulfilled by packing a special shipment of merch.

"The goat of women’s basketball became an eagles fan today," wrote a member of the FGCU athletics media team, who posted the behind-the-scenes video on TikTok on Saturday.

While it may not have drawn the attention of the UConn-South Carolina showdown on Final Four weekend, Clark's new relationship with FGCU and continued support of Iowa was a positive example of her ability to bring together different corners of the women's basketball community.
