After making numerous big changes over the offseason, including the addition of 2023 WNBA Coach of the Year Stephanie White, the Indiana Fever finished the 2025 WNBA preseason undefeated.
On Saturday, the Fever defeated the Atlanta Dream 81-76 at Gateway Center, capping off their preseason with a 3-0 record.
Sophie Cunningham came off the bench for the Fever's first two preseason games, but after logging 27 total points through both contests, she earned a starting spot against Atlanta.
After scoring five points in 15 minutes on Saturday, Cunningham went down early in the third quarter with an ankle injury. She was forced to leave the game, never to return.

Following Indiana's win, a new video shows Caitlin Clark, Brianna Turner, Jaelyn Brown and Natasha Howard getting a postgame workout in.
Late in the video, Cunningham emerges with a suitcase, wearing a walking boot to support her injured ankle.

Even with concerns arising immediately following Cunningham's injury, some WNBA fans were left more worried after seeing her in a walking boot. They left their comments on social media.
"That was a bad ankle sprain because she jumped so high for the ball.. I'd say she'll miss a few games," one fan said.
"Need Sophie to get well and back in time for the sky game," added another.
"Sophie ," posted a third.
"Workout after the game? Damn. Sophie in a walking boot?" wrote a fourth.
"Sophie is in a boot. ," commented a fifth.
"That’s looks serious," added a sixth.
After spending six seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, Cunningham was acquired by the Fever as part of a multi-team trade. Indiana sent out NaLyssa Smith and their 2025 first-round pick in return.
The Fever will hope to have their new star ready for opening day on May 17, when they host the Chicago Sky to begin the regular season.
