The Dallas Wings are one step closer to a new home base.
On Wednesday, the Dallas City Council approved plans to build the team’s new state-of-the-art practice facility at Joey Georgusis Park in West Oak Cliff. The Wings posted the news on their official social media accounts on Wednesday afternoon.
Wings CEO and managing partner Greg Bibb, alongside Mayor Eric Johnson, city manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert and several city council members, gathered at City Hall to announce the news and unveil early renderings of the training center.
The facility is expected to open ahead of the 2026 WNBA season and marks a major investment in women’s sports in North Texas. It will serve as a dedicated space for the team to train and build community ties, right in the heart of Dallas.

Their new practice facility will be located in Joey Georgusis Park in the West Oak Cliff neighborhood in Dallas. It is scheduled to be completed and ready for use by the team's 2026 training camp.
Currently, the Wings practice and play their home games at the College Park Center on the University of Texas at Arlington campus. The new complex will bring the team closer to its Dallas fan base while offering upgraded resources and amenities.
The Wings have had a rocky start to the 2025 WNBA season, with a 1–9 record and major struggles on defense. Rookie Paige Bueckers has been a standout, averaging 14.7 points and 6.7 assists per game before being sidelined due to a concussion.
The Wings secured their only win with a 109–87 victory over the Connecticut Sun, where Bueckers led the team with 21 points. However, inconsistent performances, injuries from key players and a shaky defense have held the team back. As they adjust under new coach Chris Koclanes, the Wings hope to rebuild and look to turn things around in the second half.
The Wings are set to play against the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday at the PHX Arena at 10 p.m. ET.
