Dallas Wings Reveal Injury Updates for DiJonai Carrington, Myisha Hines Allen vs. Seattle Storm

Dallas Wings guard DiJonai Carrington has officially been upgraded to available for Tuesday night’s matchup against the Seattle Storm, clearing the way for her return after missing the last nine games with a rib injury.

Carrington suffered the injury on June 20 while drawing a charge late in the fourth quarter of a win over the Connecticut Sun. After several weeks of limited activity, she practiced fully on July 15 — her first full-contact session since the injury — and was held out of the Wings’ final game before the All-Star break following a partial shootaround the next morning.

DiJonai Carrington’s Return Brings Defensive Boost

At the time of her injury, Carrington was averaging 11.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game and had emerged as one of the Wings’ most impactful two-way players. She has also served as a vocal leader and defensive anchor on the perimeter.

“It’s always tough not being able to be out there,” Carrington said last week. “But I’ve been injured before—missed a year, six months. So a month obviously hurts, but putting it into perspective helps me see the bigger picture. It gets you that hunger and that appreciation all over again.”

Her return couldn’t come at a better time for a Wings team that is beginning a brutal stretch of six games in 11 days, including back-to-back contests on the West Coast. Dallas has relied heavily on its rookie trio during Carrington’s absence, and her presence adds much-needed balance to the rotation.

“She’s the head of the snake when it comes to defense,” said Myisha Hines-Allen. “She knows exactly what the other team’s best player wants to do and how to take that away… when she comes back, you’re definitely going to notice it from the start.”

Myisha Hines-Allen Out as Wings Battle Injuries

While Carrington returns, the Wings will be without Hines-Allen, who has been ruled out with a right lower leg injury. She had been listed as questionable earlier this week but did not travel with the team. Hines-Allen has appeared in 17 games this season, averaging 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds, and has filled multiple roles in the Dallas frontcourt.

Dallas also remains without Tyasha Harris (left knee) and Maddy Siegrist (right knee). Both players continue to recover and are not expected back during this road trip.

Grace Berger, signed to a hardship contract earlier this month, is expected to be active once again behind Paige Bueckers, JJ Quinerly, and Aziaha James.

For Seattle, forward Katie Lou Samuelson will miss Tuesday’s game with a right knee injury. She has appeared in 21 games for the Storm this season, averaging 5.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 16.5 minutes.

Seattle (14–9) has won both prior meetings against Dallas (6–17) this season and leads the all-time series 48–28. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. CT Tuesday at Climate Pledge Arena, airing locally on KFAA29 and streaming on WNBA League Pass.
