The Dallas Wings gave star rookie Paige Bueckers a day off to rest on Sunday against the Las Vegas Aces, a move that drew some backlash from fans who questioned why the 23-year-old would need a break so early in her career.

There will be no repeat drama on Monday, with the Wings sharing an injury report for their game against the New York Liberty that did not list Bueckers. The Wings announced that Ty Harris and Maddy Siegrist would both be out with knee injuries, but Bueckers appears good to go for the second day of the team's back-to-back set.

Bueckers is living up to the hype of the No. 1 overall pick, averaging 18.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists to give some optimism to an otherwise gloomy season for the 7-19 Wings. She is seen as the frontrunner for the WNBA Rookie of the Year award.

Many fans were upset at the decision to bench Bueckers on Sunday, noting that the team is already out of playoff contention and don't need to preserve her health for any postseason run. The Wings were outclassed in Sunday's loss to the Aces, losing 106-80.

While Bueckers will be back on the court, the Liberty will be playing without All-Star Breanna Stewart. She remains out after suffering a leg injury against the Los Angeles Sparks. While the injury is not expected to be serious, it will keep Stewart out of Monday's game.
