Dallas Wings Suffer Big Loss Before Indiana Fever Game

The Indiana Fever are set to face the Dallas Wings in a highly anticipated matchup during Paige Bueckers' rookie season.

Indiana enters the game with a 7-8 record, having lost to the Los Angeles Sparks on the first night of a back-to-back.

While the game will be featuring a sold-out arena, previously announced by the Wings, both teams have been hit with unfortunate injuries.

Caitlin Clark missed the Fever's most recent game with a groin injury and Wings star DiJonai Carrington continues to work through a rib injury.

While Carrington was previously listed as doubtful, she has officially been ruled out of the game, meaning the Wings star will be missing her third straight matchup, per Joey Mistretta.

The loss of DiJonai Carrington has certainly been felt by the Dallas Wings. While they came together with a solid performance against the Atlanta Dream in a recent victory, Carrington's ability to impact both ends of the floor is vital for consistent success of the Wings.

Dallas sits at No. 12 in the WNBA standings with a 4-12 record.

In her first season with the Wings, Carrington has posted 11.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

On the defensive end, Carrington has averaged 1.4 steals and 0.4 blocks per game.

With the loss of Carrington, rookie Paige Bueckers has taken over.

Caitlin Clark has been playing through her second season with the Indiana Fever. When healthy, Clark leads the Fever in scoring and assists.

So far this season, Clark has posted 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game.

According to the official WNBA statistics site , Clark ranks No. 2 in the WNBA in terms of average assists, ranked behind Alyssa Thomas.
