Former Auburn Tigers women's basketball star DeWanna Bonner has been one of the top players in the WNBA since she entered the league in 2009.

After spending time with Phoenix Mercury and Connecticut Sun, she has signed with the Indiana Fever and now plays alongside superstar Caitlin Clark.

While her and Clark have only played against each other a few times since Clark's entrance into the WNBA last season, she already has made a huge impact.

Bonner speaks on joining the Fever and not having to guard Clark anymore, and is very excited about it.

“Getting to run around with her is definitely better than chasing her around,” Bonner said, now that she does not have to guard her anymore.

For Bonner, 37, she has seen a lot of stars in and out of the league, and this much admiration to Clark shows the impact she has made for the one year she has been a professional.

In Clark's rookie year, she averaged 19.2 points per game off 41.7% shooting, as well as 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game. She won Rookie of the Year, All-WNBA First-Team, and was fourth in MVP voting.

She looks to take another step to improving, and make a playoff run this season, and the addition of Bonner could help the Fever get over the hump.

Indiana was swept by the Connecticut Sun in the first round last season, and would love a chance to win a WNBA championship, a feat that Bonner has claimed twice.

In her rookie year in 2009, and later in 2014 Bonner and the Mercury lifted the trophy at the end of the year, and her experience can help Clark and the Fever achieve the title they have been longing for since 2012.
