The Indiana Fever entered Tuesday’s contest against the Seattle Storm sitting third in the Eastern Conference, four games behind the first-place New York Liberty (10-3) and three behind the Atlanta Dream (10-5).

Indiana’s 2025 campaign began with high hopes, led by several offseason acquisitions, most notably, WNBA veteran DeWanna Bonner.

However, Bonner has been conspicuously absent since June 10, missing five straight games, citing "personal reasons" for her hiatus.

Amid swirling rumors, reports on Tuesday confirmed Bonner "has no interest" in returning to Indiana, according to multiple league sources via Front Office Sports’ Annie Costabile

As news of her impending exit broke, Bonner offered a brief message on her Instagram: "My greatest loves!! I love you! ," alongside photos of her twin daughters.

Sources indicate that Bonner’s preferred destinations are the Phoenix Mercury, her former team and home for nine seasons, and the Atlanta Dream.

For Indiana, this development represents the loss of their biggest offseason splash and a veteran capable of mentoring a youthful core, headlined by Caitlin Clark.

At 37 years old, Bonner’s resume speaks for itself.

She is a two-time WNBA champion, six-time All-Star, two-time All-WNBA First Team honoree, three-time Sixth Woman of the Year and widely regarded as one of the legends in women's basketball.

In her Fever debut on May 17, Bonner etched her name into the history books by passing Tina Thompson for third on the WNBA’s all-time scoring list (7,546).

After 16 seasons spent now with three different franchises, her likely departure from the Fever marks an abrupt end to an era in Indianapolis.
