The WNBA's first Caitlin Clark/Angel Reese duel of the season included plenty of fireworks as Clark's hard foul on Reese led to an exchange of words and tensions flaring up between the duo at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana.

Social media has been abuzz with comments following Saturday's game, which resulted in a Fever win, about Reese and Clark's scrap.

On Sunday, former star NFL receiver Dez Bryant shared his raw thoughts on former NFL QB Robert Griffin III's assertion that Reese hates Clark.

Bryant's comments caused Griffin III to clarify his position in a detailed way as he brought up comments Reese made in the past.

"Both girls are good in their own right...Caitlin Clark is better than Angel Reese, but saying she hates her is wild," Bryant said on X in response to Griffin's original comment on Reese hating Clark.

Griffin III continued the conversation.

"Respectfully, Angel Reese said she is the villain, refused to answer questions about Caitlin Clark and has celebrates flagrant fouls on Caitlin Clark," Griffin III answered.

"I'm not helping create anything. Angel Reese has fed into this with her actions. She needs to do better," he added.

Reese said she is willing to "take the villain role" in 2024 as she attempted to will her Chicago Sky to the WNBA Playoffs in her first season.

The Fever dominated Saturday's game, claiming a 93-58 win during which Reese had 12 points and 17 rebounds.

Clark had a triple double with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists to lead Indiana to the win.
