Diana Taurasi becomes first WNBA player to reach 10,000 career points

On Thursday, Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi became the first player in WNBA history to score 10,000 career points.

Taurasi passed 10,000 points in Phoenix's 91-71 win against the Atlanta Dream, scoring 42 points while also contributing 6 threes, 4 rebounds and 2 assists, while shooting 50% from the field, 46.2% from three and 100% from the free-throw line.

Taurasi is the WNBA's all-time leading scorer by a wide margin, as the second-highest-scoring player is Tina Thompson with just 7,488 career points.
