DiJonai Carrington joined Angel Reese on Reebok's growing basketball team.
On Thursday, Reebok signed Carrington to a multi-year endorsement deal. The 2024 WNBA Most Improved Player will suit up for the Dallas Wings after four seasons with the Connecticut Sun.
"A San Diego native with a fearless game, DiJonai has been making noise since her college days," Reebok wrote in its Instagram announcement. "As a new member of the Dallas Wings she brings undeniable energy, toughness, and presence every time she steps on the court. DiJonai’s edge makes her the definition of a Reebok athlete. Welcome to the Future of Reebok Basketball."
Reese, who signed with Reebok in 2023 and has a signature shoe planned for 2026, celebrated the news.
"Welcome to the family sis!" Reese told Carrington on X.
"The baddie brand," Carrington replied. "Thank youu boo."
After three seasons on Connecticut's bench, Carrington set career-highs across the board with 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game last season. The former second-round pick made the All-Defensive team.
Connecticut registered a franchise-record 28 wins in the regular season before defeating the Indiana Fever in the postseason's first round. Carrington tallied 17 points and 12 rebounds in a Game 5 elimination loss to the Minnesota Lynx.
Earlier this offseason, the Sun sent Carrington to Dallas in a four-team trade. The Wings have the No. 1 pick in this year's draft following a 9-31 campaign.
Carrington has overcome two ACL tears and six knee surgeries to make it this far. In an interview posted by Reebook, the 27-year-old said she uses those health setbacks as motivation to keep fighting.
Carrington also described her game as "entertaining."
"It is fierce, fun. I feel like it's exciting. You never know when I'm gonna take a chance and try to do something," Carrington said. "It's explosive. I think it's just nitty-gritty. I do the little things."
Headed into her fifth season, Carrington is looking forward to unlocking another level after having a full offseason to prepare without focusing on injury rehab.
"I think it's so exciting that there's so much more I haven't even tapped into," Carrington said. "There's no limit to my capabilities."
