On Saturday, the Chicago Sky are set to open their regular season on the road against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The game will be televised on ABC beginning at 3 p.m. EST.
The matcup is must-watch WNBA TV as Angel Reese and Clark tip-off the 2025 season by adding another contest to their rivalry that began before the 2023 national championship between LSU and Iowa.
Since Reese and LSU won the championship, Clark has gotten the better of her rival in four- tof their five subsequent meetings.
The Hawkeyes knocked off LSU 94-87 in the rematch in the 2024 Elite Eight. The Fever defeated the Sky three times in 2024, with Chicago’s lone win in the series coming in an 88-87 nailbiter at Wintrust Arena on June 23.
ESPN’s analytics department is predicting more of the same trend in 2025. Per ESPN’s analytics department, Indiana has a 69.7% chance of winning on Saturday compared to a 30.3% chance for the Sky.
Despite the Sky adding Courtney Vandersloot, Kia Nurse, and Ariel Atkins in the offseason, ESPN doesn’t think first-year head coach Tyler Marsh can come up with a game plan to slow down Clark and the Fever in their first matchup of 2025.
Per ESPN BET, the Fever enter Saturday’s matchup at 7.5-point favorites to defeat Reese and the Sky.
