Stephanie White , head coach of the Indiana Fever team, was notably absent during Saturday’s game against the Chicago Sky. White spoke to reporters after she returned from her leave after the team practice on Monday and expressed her gratitude for having such a strong support team in the Indiana Fever team.

According to sources, White took time off to support her longtime partner, Lisa Salters, during a family crisis. Salters’ mom has been struggling with her health for quite some time, and things took a turn for the worse last week. White and Salters have been romantically linked since 2016 and raise four children together.

“I’m doing alright and it’s helpful that we have such a great group that poured into me and helped to give me some strength. I always say that we have three head coaches on our staff and knowing that they continue to step up gives me comfort. Our family’s working through a hard time right now, but no matter what, I’m going to be where my feet are and I’m really thankful for this group.” Stephanie White said to reporters after Monday’s practice session.

Stephanie White ’s absence, of course, did not deter the Indiana Fever team from doing their thing. They demolished the Sky on Saturday with a final 79-52 score. Despite the absence of their star, Caitlin Clark, the Fever still managed to impress on the court.

This is the second time that these two teams have met each other in this WNBA season. The last time that the Fever took on the Sky was during the season opener. Back then, it was the Indiana Fever who won the matchup.

Stephanie White Announces That Caitlin Clark Will Miss Atlanta Game On Tuesday

Apart from speaking out on the reason why she was absent from Saturday’s game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky, head coach Stephanie White also gave reporters a much needed report on Caitlin Clark’s return. Clark is currently sidelined with a quadriceps injury.

Right after her injury, Clark announced that she is in no hurry to return to play and would like to recover and undergo rehab as much as possible. On the other hand, the Fever team seems to be back on the winning horse after struggling with Clark’s absence for a few games.

As of now, the Indiana Fever has won two games in a row. After her announcement of Clark missing the game against the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday, White has received mixed reactions from Indiana Fever fans.
