The Indiana Fever wrapped up their preseason on a high note with a hard-fought 81-76 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Saturday afternoon.
But the game took an unfortunate turn in the second half when Fever guard Sophie Cunningham took a fall during the third quarter and rolled her ankle.
While going for a rebound, she stepped on Dream forward Rhyne Howard's foot. Afterwards, the athlete fell to the ground after the awkward landing on her right ankle.
In a video, fans can see her fellow teammates Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, Natasha Howard and Aliyah Boston check on Cunningham and help her stand up, while Howard and Mitchell helped her hop off to the Fever's bench.

Sports journalist Sara Jane Gamelli reported on X , saying that Fever head coach Stephanie White "doesn't have an update" on Cunningham.
"She keeps saying 'I'll be fine', so I trust her," White said.
Before Cunningham left, she played for 15 minutes and went 2-of-3 from the court. As the game continued, trainers looked at her on the sidelines, and she tested out her ankle by running up the baseline. Afterwards, she was seen walking with a limp to the locker room.
The 28-year-old played college basketball at the University of Missouri from 2015 to 2019. Her WNBA career started when she was drafted 13th overall by the Phoenix Mercury in 2019, and Cunningham spent six seasons with them. In 2025, she was traded to the Fever.
Fans are hoping for a speedy recovery for Cunningham, especially because the season opener takes place next week against the Chicago Sky.
