The Indiana Fever added some size to the roster with their first pick in the 2025 WNBA draft.
Indiana selected power forward Makayla Timpson out of Florida State with the No. 19 overall pick in the second round. Timpson is 6-feet, 2-inches tall and put up impressive numbers across the board as an elite frontline player at the collegiate level during the 2024-25 campaign.
The Fever dropped a hype video highlighting Timpson's skill set immediately after making the selection via the team's official X account.
"Averaging 17.5 PPG, 10.6 RPG and 3.1 BPG out of Florida State ," the Fever captioned the video, "we have selected Makayla Timpson 19th overall in the 2025 [WNBA] Draft."

Timpson will join reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark, who was the No. 1 selection in last year's draft, as well as Aliyah Boston, whom the Fever selected first overall in 2023.
If Timpson works out immediately, she could end up playing significant minutes alongside Boston in front court. Boston averaged 14.0 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 0.9 steals last season, and Timpson can provide extra length and interior defense to complement Boston's production.
The Fever also held the rights to the 20th pick in the proceedings and selected 6-foot shooting guard Bree Hall out of South Carolina. Hall is a quality perimeter defender with good length for the position and is also a spot-up 3-point shooter, which should fit well alongside the offensive creation brought by Clark on a nightly basis.
