Aerial Powers was a mid-season addition for the Indiana Fever during their injury-marred 2025 campaign. The 5-foot-11 guard came in as a free agent signing as the Fever suffered multiple injuries throughout the season.
Powers, a 10-year veteran who played for the Golden State Valkyries earlier in the season, first signed with the Fever on Aug. 23 on a seven-day hardship contract. After a second hardship deal, Indiana decided to convert it into a rest-of-season contract. The former Michigan State Spartans standout played 31 regular-season games for the Fever, averaging 9.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 20.0 minutes per contest.
Now that the season is over, Powers will become an unrestricted free agent. This only means that there is no guarantee she will return to Indiana in 2026.
Before that decision is made, however, the 31-year-old has opted to take her talents abroad to play some offseason basketball overseas. On Tuesday, Powers took to social media to send a heartfelt message upon her departure.
“Gosh… these last few days have been such a whirlwind From barely getting four days with my family to taking off for my next journey overseas ✈️ it’s been crazy!” she posted on X.
Powers then sent a message of gratitude as she bid farewell at the end of a memorable season in Indiana.
“Thank you all so much for your love, patience, and kindness while I transition from the end of the season to this new chapter Your support truly means the world to me
“Can’t wait for you to see what’s next… stay tuned! ✨” Powers wrote.
