One of the reasons people feel the Indiana Fever will be serious contenders for the WNBA championship this year is the offseason addition of DeWanna Bonner.

Bonner is a six-time All-Star, and at age 37, she is still going strong. She didn't play her best game in the Fever's 2025 season opener on Saturday, but she did move into third place in the WNBA's career scoring list by moving past Hall of Famer Tina Thompson.

She took to her Instagram account to express her gratitude for her latest accomplishment while offering some encouragement for others who are going after big things in life.

The Fever reacted to her post.

Bonner made the All-Star team last year while averaging 15.0 points and 6.0 assists a game as a member of the Connecticut Sun. She won two WNBA titles in 2009 and 2014 with the Phoenix Mercury, and while she was with them, she earned three straight Sixth Woman of the Year awards from 2009 to 2011.

She was the No. 5 pick in the 2009 draft after a stellar career at Auburn. In her senior season with Auburn, she averaged 21.1 points and 8.5 rebounds a game and was named the SEC Player of the Year.

In Indiana, she has joined second-year phenom Caitlin Clark, guard Kelsey Mitchell and forward Aliyah Boston to give the team a formidable roster. It has also been boosted by the free agent acquisition of veteran forward Natasha Howard, a two-time All-Star and three-time league champion who also won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2019.
