The Indiana Fever took to social media Saturday night praising forward DeWanna Bonner who became the third leading scorer in WNBA history. Bonner's 7,489 points sit third behind Tina Charles and Diana Taurasi.

The Fever took to the social media platform X to memorialize the occasion. Bonner passed Tina Thompson with her seventh point on Saturday night.

"Third all-time leading scorer in WNBA history," the post said. "Congratulations to DeWanna Bonner on passing Tina Thompson for No. 3 on the all-time scoring list with 7,489 points and counting."

Bonner said after the game that she is very grateful to have been able to play as long as she has and to be in the position she is in.

"I think I'm just grateful. Most people don't get up there," Bonner said after the game. "That's really hard to do. It's really hard to be in that position and to be in the league this long. You've seen all the cuts that happened this week with great talented players, so just to be in that position to get there was just, I don't know, I'm just grateful. I just try to soak in the moment."

Prior to the game, Fever coach Stephanie White, who also coached the former Auburn star when the two were with the Connecticut Sun, said Bonner deserves all of the accolades she gets.

"We tell her all the time, 'You deserve the limelight, right? You deserve the recognition.'" White said. "She doesn't love it, it's not really her personality."

"But what she's been able to do and accomplish in this league, the way she's been able to go about doing it, to make herself available every year, nearly every game, that's hard to do, and she deserves a lot of credit for what she's been able to accomplish, for how she's been able to do it. ... She's a Hall of Famer."
