The Indiana Fever closed out the 2025 preseason undefeated after an 81–76 victory over the Atlanta Dream at Gateway Center in College Park. Lexie Hull paced the Fever with 14 points, hitting 6 of 12 from the floor and adding five rebounds and four assists, while Caitlin Clark chipped in 13 points and seven assists to keep Indiana undefeated.
But the attention yesterday was as much on the Dream rookie guard Te-Hina Paopao as it was on Clark. Both went toe-to-toe with eleven points in the first half. They even competed regarding three-pointers. Lexie Hull commended her performance post-game.
“Yeah, I know how quick that comes, so it’s great to see the rookies last year, this year, coming in and playing with confidence. That’s all you can really ask for rookies, and it just shows that the game’s continuing to grow." She said when asked about Paopao's performance."
"Rookies aren’t coming in and acting like they’re not supposed to be here. They’re here, and they’re making names for themselves, and, you know, exciting for any rookie to come in for one of their first few games and have a game like she did.” She added.
"It's going to be an exciting season."

Paopao ended the night playing 21 minutes, tallying 14 points and two assists. She made three of her four three-point attempts.
Brittney Griner, veteran guard from the Phoenix Mercury, had to take an early exit from the match to rest and prepare for the regular season matchup against the Washington Mystics. It remains to be seen how the guard duo stands out in the regular season for the Dream.
