As the 2025 WNBA season rolls along, players are settling into their routines as they travel from city to city. One of those players is Kate Martin, the former Iowa Hawkeyes guard now in her second season in the league and first with the Golden State Valkyries.

Martin has appeared in 13 of Golden State’s 14 games so far, making one start and averaging 16.7 minutes per game.

In a recent Instagram story, Martin gave fans a peek inside her travel bag.

“Ever wonder what’s in my bag? Let’s unpack it,” she captioned the post.

Among the items she revealed: a set of playing cards. That detail caught the attention of Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull, who responded with a hilarious comment that quickly gained traction.

“A loose pack of cards?? Crazy work,” Hull joked.

Hull, now in her fourth WNBA season, has played in all 15 games for the Fever this year. The 25-year-old was selected sixth overall in the 2022 WNBA draft and is averaging 9.1 points and five rebounds per game. She contributed six points and nine rebounds in Indiana’s 85-75 home loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday.

Other items in Martin’s bag included a book, phone charger, her phone, gum, lip gloss and a half-eaten cookie from her flight. She also showed off her Olly Women’s Multi Gummies, calling them “simple, effective and tastes amazing.”

“That’s my secret to staying on top of everything,” Martin added.

Up next, Martin and the Valkyries host the Chicago Sky on Friday, while Hull and the Fever hit the road to face the Dallas Wings. The two teams will square off on July 9 in Indianapolis.
