Fever's Makayla Timpson says Caitlin Clark is WNBA's GOAT

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark continues her MVP-caliber campaign.

The Iowa product put up 34 points, 12 assists and six three-pointers to lead her team to a big win over the Connecticut Sun.

She now holds the record for the most 30-10 games (6) in WNBA history, and is also the first player to record such games in consecutive contests.

That's why Fever forward Makayla Timpson went as far as to claim she's the greatest player in the WNBA.

“She’s our GOAT in the league. … She just gives it her all every single night. She just does all the things. … She’s shooting the ball well, giving great assists and just being her. … My GOAT right here,” Timpson said in the post-game conference (h/t James Boyd).

“Thanks, KK. Appreciate it,” Clark responded.

While it's way too early to anoint her as the best to ever lace them up, the young point guard is certainly trending in the right direction.

Even so, individual accolades aren't what drive her to be at her best night in and night out.

Caitlin Clark doesn't care about records

“I mean, I don’t really care about the stats,” Clark said. “I think when I’m just flowing and playing, that’s kind of what follows.”

The Fever have the most explosive offense in women's basketball right now, with Clark and Kelsey Mitchell both averaging well over 20 points per contest.

Clark got off to a slow start to the season and was even tangled up in trade rumors, not to mention the controversies that usually surround her.

For now, however, she's focusing on what she can control, and if she goes down as the greatest once it's all said and done, so be it.
