Typically, when Caitlin Clark's name graces the headlines, it's for a record-breaking performance, or for spending hours signing WNBA fans' autographs. However, Monday's headlines took on a more serious tenor -- through no fault of Clark.
Over the past year, a 55-year-old, Texas-man named Michael Lewis has been held in custody, in Marion County, due to allegations of him stalking and harassing Clark. Court documents state that Lewis, who resides in Denton, Texas, traveled to Indianapolis to stalk Clark.
It's been reported that Lewis sent Clark hundreds of "sexually explicit messages and threats" on X from Dec. 12, 2024 until Jan. 11, 2025. Lewis was arrested one day later.
On Monday, a final decision was made, as Clark's stalker was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison.

Lewis will serve approximately 18 months due to time served. The details of the case have been made public, including the messages the man sent to Clark. Here is a small collection of these messages.
"Been driving around your house 3x a day, but don't call the law just yet, the publc is allowed to drive by gainbridge..aka Caitlin's Fieldhouse."
"I'm getting tickets. I'm sitting behind the bench," another message read.
"They said I was sending threatening texts..but the only though on my mind was....CAITLIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNN," Lewis' message to Clark read.
The FBI was able to track the IP addresses of Lewis' messages while in Indianapolis. According to court documents, he told officers he was in "an imaginary relationship".
Clark, who remains sidelined with a groin injury, has missed 13 total games this season for the Indiana Fever. Clark hasn't made any public comments regarding her stalker's court case, rather, she's been spending her free time, handing out backpacks filled with school supplies to children around the country.
