Former Indiana Fever Player Signs With Chicago Sky
USA TODAY Network via Reuters Connect

The Chicago Sky freed up a developmental player spot after promoting Aicha Coulibaly to a regular contract over the weekend. However, it didn't take long for the team to fill that open spot.

On Tuesday, the Sky announced that they have signed Chloe Bibby to a player development contract. It is interesting to note that Bibby last played for the Indiana Fever in 2025, Chicago's heated rival at the time, when they still had Angel Reese.

"Welcome to the Chi, Chloe," the Sky wrote, along with an edited photo of Bibby wearing a Chicago jersey. "We have officially signed Chloe Bibby to a developmental contract."

By signing a player development contract, Bibby can play in up to 12 games for Chicago. She can also join the Sky's practices and training sessions, as well as travel with the team.

Chloe Bibby's Run With the Indiana Fever

Bibby, who went undrafted in 2022, landed a contract with the Golden State Valkyries in 2025. She played five games for the team before being waived.

She landed another opportunity with the Fever, initially signing a seven-day contract. In her first game with Indiana, which was against the Sky, she recorded eight points, two rebounds and one block in just 11 minutes.

In nine games with the Fever in 2025, she averaged 3.9 points and 1.2 rebounds.

Unfortunately, Bibby's time in Indiana came to an end when she was taken by the Portland Fire in the 2026 WNBA Expansion Draft. Portland traded her just a month later to the Phoenix Mercury, who then waived her.

Bibby has yet to play in the 2026 campaign. She should have plenty of opportunities with the Sky, though, especially as the team looks for a boost in its bid to turn the season around.
