The Las Vegas Aces have been caught in a massive shakeup this offseason.

Take a look anywhere, and the Aces have undergone massive changes. Between the roster, coaching staff and even the executive branch, there is some serious turnover occurring in Las Vegas. While the Aces have legitimate championship aspirations, this much change in so little time could endanger those if chemistry does not come early.

However, the Aces still have plenty of reliable contributors, and one of the biggest media outlets highlighted the star power head coach Becky Hammon is working with.

Bleacher Report named four Aces on their list of the top 20 WNBA players for the 2025 season.

Unsurprisingly, center A’ja Wilson continues to reign supreme atop the WNBA, coming in with the number one ranking.

“Wilson’s 2024 campaign was a level of I-don’t-care-what-you-do dominance that’s still difficult to comprehend, especially when you consider the roster/injury/opponent game-plan context she had to operate within,” Bleacher Report’s Nekias Duncan wrote.

Wilson had another excellent campaign last season, notching 27 points and 12 rebounds per game. She also averaged approximately two assists, two steals and three blocks per game, showing every aspect of her multi-faceted game.

Her longtime teammates were not too far behind, as forward Jackie Young placed ninth on the list, while point guard Chelsea Gray clocks in at 14th.

“It was an interesting year for Young as the Aces worked to find themselves on both ends,” Duncan wrote on the Aces forward. “Young assumed more on-ball usage due to Gray’s early absence. That led to some process growth that should bode well moving forward—she became a more daring passer (career high 5.3 assists) and was much more willing to fire from deep (attempted a career high 5.6 3s, particularly when defenders went under screens, for example—but it didn’t lead to the cleanest year overall.”

For Gray, who dealt with injuries for much of the 2024 campaign, her placement on the list came with more nuance attached.

“Last season, Gray simply wasn’t herself as she worked to recover from her postseason-ending foot injury in 2023.,” mentioned Duncan. “As such, Gray averaged just 8.6 points and 4.9 assists in 26.0 minutes (27 regular-season games) with only modest bump-ups during the postseason (10.5 points, 6.2 assists in 32.0 minutes).”

“Point Gawd is healthier these days, evidenced by her near-MVP campaign during the Unrivaled regular season (21.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists) and Unrivaled Championship MVP honors. The blend of Penicheiro-like passing, absurd pull-up shooting and switchable defense was on full display.”

While both Young and Gray had their share of issues last season, it appears as though both will be healthy to start 2025, boosting the Aces’ championship chances dramatically.

Former Aces guard Kelsey Plum, now on the Los Angeles Sparks, came in 12th, while the player filling her shooting guard role in Jewell Loyd was part of the group rounding out the list at 19th.

“Loyd has proved to be a high level shot-maker and underrated playmaker while holding her own defensively,” Duncan wrote on one of the newest Aces. “She’s coming off the least efficient season of her career, posting lows in effective field-goal percentage (40.8, league average was 49.5) and True Shooting (49.7, league average was 53.6).”

It is clear from the rankings that the Aces have plenty of talent at their disposal, leaving fans to hope for better health and strong bench play to bring their team back to a title.
