The Indiana Fever selected South Carolina guard Raven Johnson with the 10th overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft on Monday night. Johnson, a 5-foot-8 point guard from Atlanta, spent five years at South Carolina. She helped the Gamecocks win two national championships, started for three seasons and earned SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors as a senior.

In her final college season, she averaged 9.9 points, 5.1 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 48.6% from the field, 39.8% from three-point range and 82% from the free-throw line. Johnson brings championship experience, strong defense and steady playmaking to the Fever.

She will join a talented Indiana backcourt that includes Caitlin Clark , Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, her former South Carolina teammate. The addition gives the Fever more depth and defensive grit as they push for a title.

On Tuesday, the Fever announced Johnson’s jersey update. She selected No. 3, while fellow draftees Justine Pissott and Jessica Timmons chose No. 13 and No. 23, respectively.

After the draft, Johnson expressed how she felt after hearing her name and also thanked the Fever organization for the opportunity.

“To hear your name get called, you dream of times like this,” Johnson said. “As a little girl, I’ve seen people in front of me that got their names called and I always said that I wanted to be that person one day. So for a team to believe in me and draft me, it means a lot. I just want to say thank you to Indiana.”

Johnson will have her first chance to make a regular-season impact on May 9. The Fever open the 2026 season at home against the Dallas Wings, who selected UConn guard Azzi Fudd with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

Fans and the team see Johnson as a strong fit who can help right away. Her college success and defensive skills make her a valuable addition as the Fever build for the future. The 2026 season will show how quickly she settles into her new role in Indiana.
