Caitlin Clark watched on as Stephanie White and the Indiana Fever saw their 2025 WNBA season come to an end in the semifinals, falling to A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces 3-2 after an overtime loss in Game 5. The Fever made their improbable playoff run despite missing numerous key players to season-ending injuries, including Clark, Sophie Cunningham and Aari McDonald. Even Kelsey Mitchell was forced to leave Game 5 with an injury of her own.

Indiana now enters the offseason with just three players under contract—Clark, Aliyah Boston, and rookie Makayla Timpson—meaning major changes are likely to come before the 2026 season. However, even as the WNBA Finals continue, the Fever have already begun making significant moves off the court.

On Thursday, the Fever announced a partnership with State Farm and Habitat for Humanity to build new homes “from the ground up” for the Baker and Lafayette families. The team also donated appliances to the families, who, as part of the project, have been dedicating their time to financial literacy courses, home maintenance training and helping construct the homes themselves.

"As you can see, this is the final home built and today, the homeowners are going to be cutting the ribbon on their house and finally moving in," Fever senior director of community engagement Rae McLean said. "We're just really happy to have been part of this process from start to finish. Not only did a bunch of our employees as well as our partners at State Farm come and put blood, sweat and tears into building this house, but we also donated financially as well."

The Fever’s post also featured the two families’ emotional reactions during the grand opening of their new homes.

"What this means for me is that now I get to grow in my life," Denise Lafayette said. "I hadn't been able to grow because I'm constantly starting over. Now I get to grow."

"Together with @StateFarm and Habitat for Humanity, we dedicated new homes to the Baker family and the Lafayette family," the Fever wrote on X. "With the help of our employees and #StateFarmPartner, we helped build both homes from the ground up & donated appliances to make the houses feel like home. After dedicating their time to financial literary courses, home maintenance training and putting in hours on the build site, both families are now ready to begin this exciting new chapter. Welcome home, Baker and Lafayette families! "

The Fever will have to wait until January to extend qualifying offers to their players. On Feb. 1, Indiana, along with the rest of the WNBA, can officially begin signing players.
