Stephanie White and the Indiana Fever won three consecutive games after their 1-2 start. They will embark on a two-game road trip starting on Thursday against the Golden State Valkyries and will face the Portland Fire on Saturday at Moda Center.

The team is coming off a 90-82 victory over the Valkyries on Friday. Caitlin Clark led the way with 22 points and nine assists, while Aliyah Boston recorded a 20-point, 16-rebound double-double. Kelsey Mitchell supplied 19 points, and Sophie Cunningham registered 11.

The five-day break is huge for Indiana, as it played four games in the previous eight days. While momentum is important, White and her staff, along with the players, are experiencing early-season fatigue. The days off give them rest and time to spend with their families to enjoy some off-court activities.

Stephanie White pleased to attend Indy 500 during Indiana Fever’s break

White, Clark and Lexie Hull attended the Indy 500 on Sunday. The two-time All-Star served as the grand marshal and commanded the drivers to report their cars ahead of the race.

Wish-TV News’ Andrew Chernoff asked the veteran head coach if she was pleased about being at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The WNBA did not schedule a game for the Fever on Sunday, allowing her to attend the big event with her family and some players.

“Absolutely,” White said on the WNBA’s amenable decision on their team schedule. “When you can have an off day on race day, that’s the best of both worlds.”

White also stressed that Indiana fans are connected in supporting its teams and events held in the city.

The break will help rejuvenate the team ahead of a challenging schedule. The Fever will return home following the Fire game to face Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream before embarking on another two-game road trip. They will then clash with the New York Liberty on June 6 followed by the Washington Mystics two days later.

Indiana faces one of the most favorable schedules through the first 11 games. However, it gets tougher with more road fixtures and matchups against last season’s playoff teams.
