The Indiana Fever started off their 2025 WNBA regular season with a dominant win. Caitlin Clark led the way to a blowout 93-58 win over Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.
Clark put together another head-turning performance. She scored 20 points on 6-for-13 shooting, including making four of her eight 3-point attempts. In addition, she recorded 10 assists and 10 rebounds to round out her triple-double.
Aliyah Boston had a big game as well with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Natasha Howard and Kelsey Mitchell both scored 15 points in the win.
Following the game, it has been announced that the WNBA is investigating potential racial remarks that were said to be made towards Sky forward Angel Reese.
In response to the investigation, the Fever made a statement.
"We are aware of the allegations of inappropriate fan conduct during yesterday's game and we are working closely with the WNBA to complete their investigation. We stand firm in our commitment to providing a safe environment for all WNBA players," the statement read.
Brianna Turner, a forward for Indiana, also sent a strong message about the investigation.
"I am in full support of the league investigating potential bigoted behavior directed at players," Turner wrote. "If something is found, I hope the appropriate actions are taken. If nothing is found, I still believe it’s better safe than sorry when it comes to player safety/welfare at arenas."
