Kelsey Mitchell established herself as one of the best players in the WNBA in 2025, finishing as a top-five MVP candidate, an All-Star and a member of the All-WNBA First Team.

The 29-year-old guard averaged 20.2 points , 1.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists as she played in all 44 games for the Indiana Fever during the regular season. She upped her scoring production in the playoffs, putting up 22.3 points on 42.8% shooting in eight games played.

On Sunday, Mitchell reflected on the campaign she had and shared how her grief from her father's passing last year fueled her during the past season, writing in part of her post: "Pops blueprint kept me in survival mode…"

Indiana's players quickly showed their support for Mitchell, with Caitlin Clark writing that she's "lucky" to be her teammate and that she's "proud" of her.

Sophie Cunningham, meanwhile, dropped the ultimate compliment for Mitchell and called her "everyone’s GOAT."

Fever guard Odyssey Sims also commented on Mitchell's post and shared her admiration for the three-time All-Star.

"Lefty, you are the coldest!!" Sims wrote. "It was an HONOR to play with you this season! Love you."

Sims was a late addition for the Fever this past season, joining Indiana on a hardship contract following the team's slew of season-ending injuries. She started in 10 games for the Fever as one of their backcourt players, and clearly, Mitchell made a huge impact on her after playing together.

It will be interesting to see if the Fever will re-sign Sims. While they have made it known that they plan to bring back Mitchell, it has yet to be seen who among the other free agents will remain.
