Indiana Fever HC praises Caitlin Clark's worth ethic

Coming off one of the best rookie campaigns in recent memory, Caitlin Clark is a player many will have their eye on this WNBA season. Before the 2025 campaign, one new franchise member praised the rising star.

During her career as a TV analyst, Stephanie White and Clark developed a friendship. Their relationship has grown more in recent months since the Fever brought in White to assume head coaching duties.

While speaking with ESPN, White was asked her thoughts on Clark ahead of their first season together. She applauded the work the reigning Rookie of the Year puts in behind the scenes, feeling she is incredibly mature for a player at such an early stage of her career.

"She's far beyond her years in terms of her understanding of how to work," Fever coach Stephanie White told ESPN. "Oftentimes, you see rookies, even the great ones, where it usually takes three years for them to figure it out. She's got it figured out."

Clark's maturity could be a driving force in the Fever's aggressive approach this offseason. Despite their franchise cornerstone only being in her second season, the front office was hard at work bolstering the supporting cast. Along with retaining key players, Indiana also brought in proven veterans like DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard.

With all their upgrades in the offseason, the Fever have been tossed around as a possible contender in 2025. They have the talent to do so, but it will largely fall on Clark.

As the only superstar-level talent on the roster, the Fever will only go as far as Clark can take them. As the team's point guard, she is at the center of the offense, leaving her tasked with elevating the talent around her.

Clark should be ready to hit the ground running because she had a full offseason to regroup and train. If she can improve her play from last season, Indiana could emerge as a dark horse contender in 2025.
