The Indiana Fever failed to make it three straight wins on Thursday, losing to the Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center.
Indiana entered the game as favorites, which was not a surprise after they beat both the New York Liberty and Connecticut Sun by double digits in their past two games.
However, against the Valkyries, the Fever struggled offensively and didn't get much help from their second unit. Indiana shot 8-of-29 from deep, while its bench was outscored by Golden State's reserves, 45-17.
Caitlin Clark didn't have the best game either, as she shot 3-of-14 from the field and finished with 11 points. She also tallied seven rebounds and nine assists, albeit with six turnovers.
Despite the loss, though, there were still some positives from the game. For one, Aliyah Boston had a brilliant game with 17 points and 12 rebounds. She did get into foul trouble, but her presence was what allowed the Fever to dominate early on and take a 44-38 lead at halftime.
After the defeat, the Fever took to social media to celebrate Boston's performance. Apparently, she also made history in the process.
"Aliyah Boston moved into second place in double-doubles (29) in franchise history tonight," the Fever wrote, while naming the forward their "Stat Leader of the Game."

For what it's worth, that's not the only history Aliyah Boston made in the game. She also climbed the Fever's all-time blocks list, surpassing Fever center Teaira McCowan for the fourth spot.
Boston entered the game with 116 career blocks, needing just two to break McCowan's record of 117. The 23-year-old blocked three shots in the contest.
The Fever return to action on Sunday against the Las Vegas Aces. Sure enough, it will be interesting to see if Indiana can bounce back as they look to climb the WNBA standings. The Fever are now 6-6 on the season.
