The Indiana Fever clinched a spot in the Commissioner's Cup championship game with an 88-71 win over the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday.
Fever star Caitlin Clark, playing in her second game back after missing five games with a left quad injury, put up 20 points and six assists in 29 minutes while shooting 6-of-12 from the field, 4-of-6 from beyond the arc and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.
The Fever-Sun game was very chippy. In the third quarter, Jacy Sheldon poked Clark in the eye. Clark pushed Sheldon after getting poked in the eye, and then Marina Mabrey shoved Clark to the floor.
With 46.1 seconds remaining in regulation, Sophie Cunningham committed a hard foul on Sheldon as Sheldon attempted a breakaway layup.
A huge altercation ensued between the players.
"I started talking to the officials in the first quarter, and we knew this was going to happen," Fever coach Stephanie White said after the game. "You could tell it was going to happen. So, they've got to get control of it. They've got to be better."
On Wednesday, the Fever asked their fans to vote Clark into the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game.
Clark made the All-Star team last year as a rookie.

Clark said on Tuesday after the Fever-Sun game that she and her teammates are excited to play in the title game.
"Obviously, we're excited. It's a big deal," Clark said. "It's a hard thing to do, and why wouldn't we celebrate that? We're getting to play for a pool of money -- that's pretty fun -- and you're competing to win a trophy. It's an extra game for us to get better, as well."
