The Indiana Fever are preparing for life without their superstar Caitlin Clark, at least for the next four games. The team hopes to have the former Iowa Hawkeyes star back in the lineup soon after that stretch.
In the meantime, head coach Stephanie White must decide how to fill the void in the starting lineup. Clark is sidelined with a quad injury, which opens a spot in the rotation.
The Fever are set to face the Washington Mystics on the road Wednesday, and it appears a lineup decision has been made.
Underdog WNBA shared the following update:
"Lineup alert: Sydney Colson will start while Caitlin Clark (quad) is out, per coach White."

Chloe Peterson of the Indianapolis Star spoke with White about the lineup changes, and the coach provided this insight:
"Yeah, we are going to start Syd at the point tomorrow and give that a look. Sophie's gonna get a heavy dose of it as well. The other thing we love is what Sophie and or Lexi, whichever one brings us from the bench and having that spark, having that punch, so we are going to look at Syd in that starting lineup to start."Syd
Steph White said Syd Colson is going to get the start at point guard against the Mystics tomorrow.

Sydney Colson has logged just 23 minutes across four games this season and didn’t play in the recent home loss to the New York Liberty. In limited action, the veteran is averaging 1.3 points per game.
Colson was drafted in the second round of the 2011 WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun and was immediately traded to the New York Liberty. She spent the last three seasons with the Las Vegas Aces and won an NCAA championship with Texas A&M in 2011.
The other bench options White mentioned include Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull. Cunningham has appeared in just two games due to an ankle injury but is averaging 7 points per game.
Hull, who has made one start, is averaging 26.3 minutes, 10 points and 3.5 rebounds per game this season.
Clark’s absence is a big challenge for Indiana’s offense. She is averaging 19.0 points, 9.3 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game 35 minutes.
The Fever return home Friday. They’ll host the Mystics again on June 3 before heading to Chicago to face the Sky on June 7.
