The Indiana Fever continue to ride the Caitlin Clark wave, finding success in her return to the lineup.
On Tuesday, Indiana defeated the Connecticut Sun, 88-71. They were playing in the second game back in action for Caitlin Clark and picked up their second straight win.
Following the game, the Fever announced their "Stat Leader of the Game," which was awarded to Natasha Howard.
"A dominant double-double from Natasha Howard tonight against the Sun," posted the official social media account of the Indiana Fever.
Natasha Howard finished the game with 16 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 62.5% from the field.

Natasha Howard has been phenomenal for the Indiana Fever in her first season back with the team. Howard was previously drafted by the Fever in 2014. She spent two seasons in Indiana before making her way across the league.
After her first stint with the Fever, Howard also spent time with the Minnesota Lynx, Seattle Storm, New York Liberty and Dallas Wings.
In her first season back with the Fever, Howard has posted 11.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.
Several other Indiana Fever stars showed out against the Connecticut Sun.
Caitlin Clark finished the game with 20 points, one rebound and six assists. Kelsey Mitchell capped off her night with 17 points, two rebounds and two assists.
Another Indiana Fever All-Star, Aliyah Boston, nearly posted a double-double. Boston ended the game with nine points, nine rebounds and five assists.
The Fever now stand at 6-5 on season, one game above .500.

The Phoenix Mercury (16-10) and Atlanta Dream (16-11) will meet in the WNBA tonight. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at the Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia. The game will broadcast live on ION. The Mercury are 3.5-point favorites over the Dream on the spread (Mercury -3.5), with the over/under set at 165.5 total points. Phoenix is a -150 favorite to win outright, while Atlanta is +125 to pull off the upset. Let’s get into my Mercury vs. Dream predictions and WNBA picks for Friday, August 1. Mercury vs. Dream Odds, Pick Mercury vs. Dream Spread: Mercury -3.5 Mercury vs. Dream Over/Under: 165.5 total points Mercury vs. Dream Moneyline: Mercury -150, Dream +125 Mercury vs. Dream Best Bet: Mercury -3.5 The Atlanta Dream host the Phoenix Mercury on Friday night in a game between two teams jockeying for positioning in the standings. The Dream have listed Brittney Griner (neck) as doubtful, Jordin Canada (illness) as questionable, while Rhyne Howard (knee) remains out for this contest while the Mercury have a clean bill of health. If Griner is able to go, she has played very well against Alyssa Thomas during her career. She scored 17 points in their one matchup this season and has exceeded her 10.5 points line in eight straight games against her while averaging 18.3 ppg. If the Dream have all these injuries, much of the responsibility will fall upon Allisha Gray. She dropped 28 points, 6 assists, and 7 rebounds in their matchup about a week ago. Her efficiency was through the roof. The Mercury are one of the best defensive teams in the W yet they have a distinct ability to speed teams up to capitalize on their Pace advantage. Here, the biggest questions are around the Dream’s health. Considering Griner is doubtful she’s unlikely to go; if Canada also sits, this is going to be a very tough spot for the Dream. The Mercury have been on a bit of a slide, going 1-4 over their last five games including a loss to this Dream team. However, without Griner, they’ll be hard pressed to dominate the interior in the same way where they outscored Phoenix 42-24 in the paint. I expect a bounce-back from Phoenix tonight and I’ll lay the points. Best Bet: Mercury -3.5

The Los Angeles Lakers were hunting for a center for most of the offseason after being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. They knew they needed an upgrade from Jaxon Hayes. While the Lakers didn't get any of the top centers on the free agent market, they were able to sign Deandre Ayton after he was bought out. Another center would be a better fit, but he wasn't available in the offseason. Nikola Vucevic has been linked to the Lakers dating all the way back to the trade deadline, although Vucevic was not moved. More news: Lakers Make Massive Announcement Ahead of 2025-26 Season The Lakers would only be interested in Vucevic if he were to be bought out, according to Anthony Irwin of ClutchPoints. Los Angeles will not be pursuing a trade to acquire Vucevic. After bringing in Ayton on a two-year deal, it wouldn't make sense to trade assets in order to bring in Vucevic. They want to see what Ayton can do before bailing on him already. The Lakers needed a starting center, as that was their biggest need heading into the offseason. While Ayton isn't the greatest option, he is someone who can help the team with what he brings to the table. The Bulls seem to think that Vucevic can still help them win games and contend for the playoffs in what will be a very weak Eastern Conference next season. If things don't go well by the time the trade deadline arrives, the Bulls might decide to buy him out if they aren't in the playoff picture. That would be the only scenario in which the Lakers bring him in. More news: Lakers Rumors: NBA Insider Provides Massive Update on Luka Doncic Extension The Lakers are always looking to improve the roster whenever possible. They aren't worried about hurting feelings, so they wouldn't hesitate to offer Vucevic a contract if they thought he was better than Ayton. With LeBron James entering the end of his career, the Lakers are going to try to win the title as quickly as possible while he is still on the roster. Last season with the Bulls, Vucevic averaged 18.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. He shot 53 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. The Milwaukee Brewers sit atop the National League Central with a roster loaded with talent, which the club has a rare opportunity to add to after the trade deadline. Thursday night's trade deadline was as busy as ever, with the majority of Major League Baseball teams making roster-altering decisions for the remainder of the 2025 season. The New York Yankees made a slew of moves, which led to a hurler being released, who the Brewers should pounce on. "The Yankees have released Marcus Stroman," ESPN's Jorge Castillo reported Friday afternoon. Stroman has a 6.23 ERA with a 26-to-16 strikeout-to-walk ratio, .282 batting average against and a 1.54 WHIP in 39 innings pitched across nine games this season. The Brew Crew's rotation ranks second in baseball with a combined 3.39 ERA, leaving little to be desired. However, depth is always welcome and this addition could fit both as starting depth or more impactfully, in the bullpen -- which ranks No. 15 with a 3.93 ERA. Despite finding success thus far, Milwaukee should look to improve its roster at any given opportunity, which is where Stroman comes in. His release by the Yankees may have been slightly performance-based, but the larger reason is due to the deadline additions made by New York. The 34-year-old was the odd man out for a roster with an influx of pitchers. The Brewers should look to add the righty to their rotation, whether he's a depth piece or if he can fight for a spot as a long reliever. His numbers this season don't necessarily stand out. Still, Milwaukee has the tools within the organization to fine-tune his toolset and have him become a valuable asset for the remainder of the 2025 season -- something they've proven to due with struggling veterans time and time again.
