The Indiana Fever lost several key players to injuries during the 2025 WNBA season, including Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Aari McDonald, Chloe Bibby and Sydney Colson.
Cunningham, McDonald and Colson all underwent surgery, effectively ending their seasons.
Colson, in particular, suffered a torn ACL in her left knee during a game against the Phoenix Mercury last Aug. 7. Nearly two weeks later, she had her operation to repair her damaged knee. She even went on Instagram Live right after her surgery, which surprised her teammates and many fans.
Now, nearly four months after the unfortunate setback, it looks like Colson has progressed well in her recovery.
In an update she shared on Instagram, Colson revealed that she can now run. The Fever guard uploaded a video featuring a clip from "Forrest Gump," where the young Forrest begins to run. She then included a clip of herself running on the court.
"4 months post op," Colson wrote.
Naturally, the Fever and her teammates were hyped to see her doing well after such a concerning injury.
Indiana wrote, "Go Syd go," referencing the famous "Forrest Gump" line as well.
"Fast as hellll boiiiii," Aliyah Boston added.
"So speedyyy," Bibby commented. Damiris Dantas remarked, "So proud of you Chica. LFG."
"Ayeeee," Brianna Turner stated.
It certainly looks like Colson will be ready once AU Pro Basketball kicks off in 2026. The WNBA veteran joined the competition, which is slated to start in February. Other Fever players such as Odyssey Sims, Bree Hall and Turner also joined the tournament.
