  • Makayla Timpson joined the Indiana Fever as the 19th overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
  • She signed with Czech team ZVVZ USK Praha to play overseas during the WNBA offseason.
  • “My biggest goal…is just to learn the culture, explore the city… and play basketball.”

The Indiana Fever selected Makayla Timpson in the second round as the 19th overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. The 6-foot-2 forward/center came off a four-year stint with the Florida State Seminoles, averaging 17.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 3.1 blocks in her senior year.

Timpson, however, did not have a very impactful rookie year under head coach Stephanie White. She made 31 appearances throughout the regular season, putting up averages of 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in 7.1 minutes per contest. Timpson wasn’t exactly a key player for the Fever, but she did show flashes of potential during her limited time on the floor.

Timpson has now decided to take her talents abroad amid the WNBA offseason. Like other players in the league who play overseas between seasons, the 23-year-old has also opted to play in a professional league outside the United States.

Timpson landed a job with Czech team ZVVZ USK Praha for the EuroLeague Women season. Her new team posted a video of Timpson on social media on Tuesday, introducing her to the fans. In the clip, the Fever rookie expressed her excitement with her new job. Timpson also revealed her plans now that she’s joined a new league.

"I'm expecting to see my competition unfold," Timpson said. "To play in the best league in Europe and just go out and dominate on the court.

"My biggest goal for being here for three months is just to learn the culture, explore the city of Europe, get to know my teammates, have fun and just play basketball at the highest level in Europe."

On Saturday, Timpson turned in a strong performance for her new team, recording 17 points and five rebounds, as Praha cruised to a massive 100-35 victory over Levharti Chomutov.

Timpson is one of three players on the Fever that are under contract through 2026, along with stars Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.
