Indiana Fever fans were robbed of what could have been a landmark second season from Caitlin Clark in 2025. Clark opened her sophomore WNBA campaign with a dominance that mirrored her rookie year. She recorded a triple-double in the opener against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a 93-58 win. Later, in June, she erupted for 32 points, nine assists, eight rebounds and seven made 3-pointers in a victory over the New York Liberty, helping snap the Liberty’s early unbeaten start.
Clark’s season, however, was repeatedly derailed by injuries. She first suffered a left quadriceps strain in late May, missing a stretch of games and later returned before suffering a right groin injury in mid-July that ultimately sidelined her for the rest of the year.
Despite her limited availability, the Fever played well enough to advance to the WNBA semifinals, where they pushed the eventual champion Las Vegas Aces to five games. Still, the postseason run left many fans wondering how far Indiana might have gone with Clark healthy throughout the playoffs.
Clark is expected back for the 2026 season as she continues her recovery, though uncertainty from ongoing WNBA CBA negotiations and potential schedule changes still looms ahead of the planned May start. With a possible resumption of play drawing closer, the Fever shared a workout update for Clark on Monday that will encourage supporters.
The team shared a clip of Clark sinking shots accurately during a recent workout session as she prepares for USA Basketball training camp this weekend, a first step toward competing in World Cup qualification games.
“22 getting buckets Caitlin Clark went 22-for-25 from beyond the arc after her workout today ,” the team captioned the post.

The footage reaffirmed what she is best known for, her elite three-point shooting, and proved she has not lost her sharpness despite months away from competitive action.
Indiana has already released its 2026 preseason schedule, which features matchups against the Dallas Wings and Liberty as they prepare for the regular season. The Fever are slated to open the 2026 season on May 9 at home against the Wings, a marquee matchup that pits Clark against last season’s Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers.
If the latest workout clip is any indication, Clark appears ready to resume where she left off, and Fever supporters will be counting down the days until she’s officially back on the court.
