Earlier this weekend Indiana Fever star guard Sophie Cunningham earned an impressive honor when she was inducted into the University of Missouri's Hall of Fame after becoming the Tigers all-time leading scorer while averaging 17.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists during her collegiate career.

“Being back home in my hometown made it even more special. My whole family and all my friends were here. I did get inducted into the Hall of Fame, but I promise you, this award is for all of them who helped get me to where I am today,” Cunningham said in a message for fans.

Indiana Fever Prepare for Playoff Bout

Just two days after Cunningham celebrated a major career achievement she'll watch as the Indiana Fever face off against the Atlanta Dream in the first round of the 2025 WNBA playoffs. It's the second-straight playoff appearance for the Fever, but they'll be severely short-handed as Cunningham is just one of five players who suffered season-ending injuries.

Star guard Caitlin Clark along with guards Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald and Chloe Bibby all suffered season-ending injuries and won't play against the Dream.

Sophie Cunningham Takes to Instagram

Before the first-round game tips off, Cunningham took to social media with a message. In a video showing a horse read the words, "Jesus wins in the end, my friends."

Cunningham's post comes just a few days after she revealed an injury update on her podcast, Show Me Something.

“Actually, rehab is kind of fun. This sounds really bad cause there’s like five of us in there, and we are all going through it, and three of us are kind of doing like the same rehab. So yeah, which is weird,” she said.

“...But I think I’m just doing more, and it’s like progressing really, really well. But with that, like anytime you push an injury, it’s just going to ache and stuff when you are doing something new,” added Cunningham.

Indiana tips off against Atlanta at 3 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
