Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has had an inconsistent 2025 WNBA season so far.

Through 15 games, the Fever have gone 7-8 and sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference. However, thanks to a win over the New York Liberty, Indiana will be playing in the July 1 Commissioner Cup Championship Game.

The Fever were hoping for a stronger start to the season, especially after adding Stephanie White, Sophie Cunningham and Natasha Howard. However, in the six games Clark has missed due to injury, Indiana has struggled in her absence.

Howard returned to the Fever in the offseason, signing a one-year, $214,666 deal. She began her career in Indiana in 2014 but spent only two seasons with the team. Now, it appears she’s embracing the Fever’s rising popularity alongside Clark.

In the latest episode of WNBA legend Sue Bird's podcast, "Bird's Eye View," Howard made a guest appearance to discuss her career. When talking about rejoining the Fever, Howard admitted that Clark reminds her of a "little sister."

"Just getting to know Caitlin more, she reminds me of a little sister because she’s only 22 years old," Howard said. "Like she reminds me of a little sister that I can put on my wing and guide her, and just be that vet for her. And just let her know ... 'I got your back, like no matter what, cause we know you got a lot of stuff on your shoulder right now. Let me take some of that off your shoulder for you. You ain’t gotta do everythin on your own.'"

Howard added that Clark doesn't "have to do everything like you had to do at Iowa."

Howard has been a solid addition for Indiana, starting every game and averaging 10.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.

The Fever will be back in action on Friday night, facing Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. Clark has been ruled out for a second straight game.
