During the all-star break, not only was Las Vegas Aces guard Jackie Young celebrating being selected as all-star, but she celebrated her signature shoe signing with Sketchers.

Young kept the shoe deal a secret for months. She showed up to Aces media day with her signature hot pink Sketchers on.

During media day, Jackie Young said, “I’m pretty crazy when it comes to my shoes. It started right before training camp. As soon as I put the shoes on. I like the style; I like the colorways.”

Then, Young was wearing the unreleased pair of Skechers SKX Nexus. Young kept a tight lip about the sneakers whenever reporters asked her about them.

Young was only testing the shoes at the time from Sketchers and had officially signed with the company.

“I was just dodging questions until we could actually release something,” Young said, smiling. “My teammates, my friends? They knew.”

When the time came for individual player photos, Jackie Young strategically executed various angles to hide the famous Sketcher “S” on the shoe.

Young wouldn’t reveal her secret for months. Her sneaker deal with Sketchers announcement came on the heels of achieving her first triple-double and giving back to Princeton, Indiana, her hometown during the WNBA All-Star festivities.

Young said, “We’re trying to do big things.”

I’ve only been with them a few months, and the team came to my hometown. That says a lot, “Young continued.

While making a stop in her hometown, Young said, “We’re trying to do big things.”

“I’ve only been with them a few months, and the team came to my hometown. That says a lot,” Young said.

With Young’s signing, the brand is looking to contend with other athletic brands like Nike, Adidas, Reebok, etc.

Jackie Young said, “I think it’s cool because you have to be confident to wear Skechers,” Young says. “Having that confidence to be like, ‘Yeah, I wanna be with Skechers.’ I think it’s cool because there’s not very many athletes. They’re just getting back into the basketball world.”

Young concluded, “The kids that didn’t have much growing up? That was me,” Young said. “If I can give them a pair of shoes or host a camp? That’s something that I want to do. I’m excited because Skechers is excited to do that too and it shows.”
