Las Vegas Aces star Kelsey Plum achieved another career milestone on Saturday as her alma mater, University of Washington, retired her jersey No. 10.
Plum was present in the ceremony, which happened at halftime during the game between the Huskies and Purdue in Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion. It was the first-ever women's jersey put into the rafters by Washington.
The 30-year-old Plum played for the Huskies from 2013-17 and set multiple school records. She led the team to its first-ever Final Four appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2016.
The Aces guard shared several pictures from her special day on Instagram.
"UW forever my home I’m so grateful," wrote Plum. "Dream big, life will take you wherever you want to go."
She was greeted by her former Aces teammate, Kate Martin, for her historic achievement.
"Congrats," wrote Martin, who will suit up for the Golden State Valkyries in the upcoming season.
At Washington, Plum became the NCAA's all-time leading scorer with 3,527 points. The feat was broken by Martin's former teammate at Iowa, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark.
“I look back now and it is a really cool moment to look back and say, ‘Dang, that is a lot of points,’" said Plum in a report from the Associated Press (AP). "I’d never really thought about it. I just appreciate that time of reflection.”
She was also named Naismith College Player of the Year, AP Player of the Year and Pac-12 Player of the Year.
After her legendary career with the Huskies, Plum was drafted as the No. 1 overall pick by the now-defunct San Antonio Stars in 2017. She has won two WNBA titles with the Aces.
