Caitlin Clark quickly established herself as one of the biggest stars in the WNBA last season with the Indiana Fever.
Clark, selected with the No. 1 overall pick, was named a WNBA All-Star in her first season in the league.
She made an immediate impact on the Fever and the WNBA.
Clark's former teammate, Kate Martin, who played with the Fever star during her time with the Iowa Hawkeyes, recently shared an interesting story on their introduction.
Martin, who played one season with the Hawkeyes prior to Clark joining the team, explained the hype around the Indiana Fever star as a college basketball recruit during an appearance on the podcast "Bird's Eye View with Sue Bird."
"She had come on a couple of visits and she was like a big name in Iowa," Martin said. "I had heard about her. I wasn't from Iowa, so I didn't know as much; Iowa Attack AAU program is like so big. I had never heard of it. ... I had heard about this Caitlin Clark and I was like watching videos of her like having 40 points averaging like a million in high school. I was like 'This girl thinks she's going to come in here and rule the world.' Then she did, came in right away and ruled the world."
