Indiana Fever forward Makayla Timpson finished her rookie season averaging 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds on 7.1 minutes per game.
While she didn't have a big role for Indiana, Timpson showed flashes of brilliance when given extended playing time. In the two games in which she played the most minutes, she reached double digits in scoring.
Against the Chicago Sky in July, Timpson played 22 minutes and recorded 14 points, four rebounds and three steals. In the same month against the Golden State Valkyries, she filled up the stat sheet with 10 points, six rebounds, three steals and two blocks in 20 minutes of action.
After the WNBA season, Timpson went overseas to play for USK Praha in the Czech Republic. She has since returned to the U.S., joining Unrivaled as part of the league's development pool.
As she continues to improve her game, Timpson also received a major honor. The Fever shared on social media that her No. 21 jersey has been retired by her alma mater, Early County High School.
The Fever also shared photos of Timpson from the event, sparking messages of congratulations from fans.
Kelsey Mitchell, for her part, also made sure to show her support for the youngster. She shared the news on her Instagram Stories along with a strong message.
"no one more deserving," Mitchell wrote before adding, "congrats baby rook!"

The Fever drafted Timpson in the second round of the 2025 WNBA Draft, going 19th overall. She's one of only three Fever players under contract for the 2026 season, along with Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.
Mitchell is a free agent this offseason, but the Fever have already said that they are going to prioritize re-signing her.
