There was some uncertainty surrounding Lexie Hull’s future with the Indiana Fever during the offseason. After spending the first four years of her career with the Fever, Hull entered free agency. While she was a restricted free agent, the Fever still ran the risk of losing the 6-foot-1 guard if she received a viable offer from an opposing team.

In the end, however, Hull opted to remain in Indiana. She signed a multi-year contract with the Fever, which will keep her with the team for at least the next couple of seasons.

Speaking to reporters on Monday after practice, Hull explained the circumstances that led her to decide to stay.

Hull joined her teammates on Monday for the second day of training camp. Preparations are now in full swing for the Fever as they head into the new season. They kick off their campaign on May 9 in a home matchup against the Dallas Wings.

Hull will be in the lineup for the season-opener. As it turns out, she really had very little doubt about her decision in free agency. She made a personal admission about what Indiana means to her.

“I mean, this is home,” she said. “I think when the season ended last year, I knew this is where I wanted to be.”

Hull also expressed her desire to build on the momentum they built in 2025. Despite their injury crisis, the Fever still won the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup. They also reached the WNBA playoffs semifinals.

The 26-year-old shared how the Indiana faithful also played a key role in her decision to stay.

“I mean, the fans are great,” Hull continued. “From the moment I got here my rookie year,  even though we didn't have the best year on the court, they welcomed me with open arms.

“As someone from the West Coast, I didn't have a lot of people here. I didn't have anyone here really that I knew. They made this place feel like home, and it's just continued to feel more and more like home the last few years.”
