Our favorite athletes are gearing up for the start of the WNBA season, which officially tips off this Friday. Excitement is building across the league, and players are giving fans a glimpse behind the scenes. On Friday afternoon, Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull posted some action shots from this year's preseason and photos from media day in a photo dump on Instagram.
"game day eve!!" Hull wrote in her caption, "can you tell we’re excited?"
The post included several photos of her and her teammates, such as a candid shot of her, Sophie Cunningham, DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard about to high-five on the court, a photo of her and Caitlin Clark sitting on the sidelines and a cute photo of Cunningham and Hull smiling at the camera while warming up.
Many WNBA athletes, staff and fans went to the comment section to express their love and excitement for the upcoming season.
Clark, the No. 1 pick overall during the 2024 draft, commented, "LETS GOOOOO" two minutes after the post was shared.
Bri Lewerke, a women's sports photographer behind the Fever's media day pictures, also commented, "Can’t wait for round 2 with you ✨."
The official Fever Instagram account even joined the conversation, writing "we’re excited‼️."
Drafted sixth overall by the Fever in 2022, the 25-year-old athlete has become a key contributor to her team for the past three years, notably shooting 47.1% from three-point range in 2024. She played for Stanford University from 2018 to 2022 and was a pivotal member of Stanford’s 2021 national championship team.
The Fever will be tipping off their WNBA season against the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET.
